Where Beauty Meets the Science of Oculoplastics

It is with great enthusiasm that I announce the 31st International Congress of Oculoplastics and 10th International Congress of Periocular Aesthetics that will take place from June 6th to 8th, 2024, in the charming city of Florianópolis. The biggest national oculoplastic event will take place at the stunning Costão do Santinho Resort.

On June 6th we will have the 6th ITEDS (International Thyroid Eye Disease Society) Meeting, composed of exponents of the oculoplastic world who are dedicated to this very challenging disease, Graves’ orbitopathy. The last meetings took place in Singapore, London, Vancouver, and New York, and now, through Professor Augusto Velasco (USP-RP), this renowned event will be held in our country. Together with Prof. Augusto and Gherusa Moré, we are preparing an event of a high scientific nature.

On the first day of the event, we will also have options for those who want to deepen their knowledge in aesthetics, including blepharoplasty and eyebrow ptosis courses, both with a surgical and minimally invasive focus.

An agenda full of lectures, workshops and debates was carefully prepared along with Davi Araf and Adriano Baccega, in what is the 2nd largest oculoplastics congress in the world.

We will have highly qualified international guests, with updates on the clinical and surgical treatment of Graves’ orbitopathy, new concepts in tear duct, orbit and anophthalmic cavity surgery, as well as new developments in procedures and surgeries in aesthetic Oculoplastics.

We have a long list of international speakers who will be participating in the event: Dr. Stuart Seiff, Dr. Jeremiah Tao, Dr. Robert Goldberg, Dr. Andrea Kossler, Dr. Malena Amato, Dr. Don Kikkawa, Dr. Terry Smith, Dr. Peter Dolman, Dr. Hirohiko Kakizaki, Dr. Suryasnata Rath and Dr. Tarjani Dave.

Additionally, we will have the launch of two oculoplastic books: Atlas of lacrimal ducts and orbit and Manual of conduct in orbit, both with free distribution to all participants!

All congress participants are welcome to show their techniques and innovations to enhance the specialty, for that, simply send your work for a poster or video. The 3 best works will be selected for an oral presentation, which will be awarded.

On June 5th, I hope to see all oculoplastic enthusiasts at Floripa Airport, where there will be welcoming vans to take us to Costão do Santinho to enjoy fantastic days, full of learning and networking. An opportunity not to be missed!

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I’m thrilled to invite you to join us at the 6th International Thyroid Eye Disease Society (ITEDS) Meeting, happening on June 6th, 2024, in the beautiful city of Florianopolis, Brazil. This year, the ITEDS will be a joint meeting with the Brazilian International Oculoplastics Congress. It’s going to be an exciting three days of science, learning, and, of course, some unforgettable experiences in one of Brazil’s most beautiful beachfront spots.

As you know, Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) management may be quite challenging. It’s a complex and diverse condition that has a profound impact on the patient’s quality of life. That’s why we’re gathering—to push the boundaries of what we know, explore new treatments, and share our experiences. And we’ve got some of the brightest minds in the field joining us as speakers. They’re bringing fresh perspectives, the latest research, and their surgical experience in the rehabilitation of difficult cases of TED.

Together with my colleagues, Dr. Filipe Pereira and Dr. Gherusa Milbratz Moré, we’re putting on an event that’s not just high in scientific value but also rich in experiences. The main purpose of this meeting is to create a friendly space where you can share, learn, and discuss your thoughts about TED.

Florianopolis isn’t just our meeting point; it’s a place where natural beauty and vibrant culture meet. It’s the perfect setting to inspire our conversations and collaborations. I’m looking forward to seeing the connections that’ll spark over a cup of coffee with a view of the sea or during a stroll on the beach after a day full of sessions.
